Jay Leno wants courts in New Hampshire to recognize his wife's conservatorship in California so he can sell one of their New England properties ... TMZ has learned.
Jay says he's planning to sell some real estate he and his wife, Mavis, own in the Granite State ... hence the reason for the filing.

TMZ obtained court docs filed earlier this month, where the comedian tells the court he wants to sell "certain real estate located in New Hampshire" that they hold as community property.
The property in question appears to be a 2-bed, 2-bath ranch built in 1995 ... that he's listed for just under $400K. Jay put it up for sale back in June.
He's been Mavis' caretaker throughout her battle with dementia.
The court has yet to rule.
